Abstract

Expeditionen genomfördes av och med forsknings fartyget R/V Svea med hjälp av en TV3L bottentrål i enlighet med Baltic International Trawl Survey (BITS) manual (ICES, 2017). Sverige tilldelades 50 slumpvis utvalda stationer.

Totalt 52 stationer trålades med TV3L bottentrål inklusive 6 syrefria tråldrag (som inte trålades eftersom syrekoncentrationen nära botten var <0,5 ml/l, de inkluderas i beståndsuppskattningen som 0-fångst) plus två kompletteringsdrag i SD 28. Kompletteringsdrag utförs för att få tillräckligt med torsk för att kunna utföra samtliga biologiska analyser på ett vedertaget sätt och täckte delar av områdena SD 24, 25, 27 och 28 i år.

Under hela undersökningen registrerades akustiska data kontinuerligt. Under denna undersökning fångades totalt 28 olika fiskarter. Totalfångsten i vikt dominerades av sill, skarpsill, torsk och skrubbskädda.

Hydrografiska parametrar såsom salthalt, temperatur och syrekoncentration, observerades och mättes på samtliga trålstationer. I den här rapporten visas syrekoncentrationen ca 1 meter ovanför botten.

The survey was conducted by the R/V Svea using the TV3L demersal trawl according to the Baltic International Trawl Survey (BITS) manual (ICES. 2017). Sweden was assigned 50 randomly selected hauls.

In total 52 valid hauls were performed with TV3L demersal trawl including six hauls with oxygen deficiency (which were not trawled because the oxygen concentration close to the bottom was <0.5 ml/l, these hauls are included in stock assessment as zero catch) and two complementary hauls in SD 28. The complementary hauls were made to get enough cod to be able to perform all biological analyzes in a conventional manner. We covered parts of the areas SD 24, 25, 27 and 28 this year.

During the whole survey, acoustic data were continuously recorded. During this survey a total of 28 fish species were caught. Herring, sprat, cod and flounder, dominated the total catch, in terms of weight.

The hydrographic conditions were observed and measured on every station. Only the oxygen concentration at the bottom is presented in the report.
