Abstract

A new system for rough (long) grass maintenance was tested on different types of rough grass fields to find the system’s capacity, function an economy. Work studies were used to find these factors. The system was built up with a front-mounted mower, a four-wheel drive tractor and a self-loading wagon. The system enabled cutting, removal of the clippings and transport in one operation. The practical capacity was 3 200 sqm per hour and the cutting result was very satisfying. The system left a smooth surface with no remaining clippings.
