Maskinellt skogsarbete i konstljus : ergonomiska aspekter på syn- och belysningsförhållanden : en studie inom det internordiska (NSR-) projektet "Förhållandet mellan man och maskin för skogsbrukets maskiner"

Abstract

A project studying work with mobile forest machines in artificial light was initiated in 1969 at the College of Forestry in collaboration with the National Institute of Occupational Health. The aim of the project was to investigate the existing lighting conditions and give suggestions for suitable lighting arrangements as well as other measures that can make work in artificial light easier and safer. The investigations have been done both as limited model tests and in connection with actual field work. The existing lighting conditions were found to be unsatisfactory in the following respects: too low level and too uneven distribution of illumination on and around the machines and too high luminances on some machine-parts (glare) mainly on machines with light colours. The lighting conditions can be improved through the use of broad beam lamps, stronger generators, more lamps and through black-painting certain parts of the machines. Considerations of planning and organization for work in artificial light are discussed.
